Overage billing

Opt-in overages with a monthly USD cap and hard stops.

Overview

Every paid plan includes monthly usage measured in usage units (weighted), not raw request count.

When you exceed included usage:

If overages are off (default), the API hard-stops further billable usage for the month.
If overages are on and you set a monthly spend cap (USD), requests can continue until the cap is reached.
When the cap is reached, requests hard-stop until the monthly window resets or you upgrade.

Overages and limits are enforced per account. All API keys you own roll up into the same monthly totals.

Different endpoints have different compute cost. Usage units make costs predictable across endpoint families.

Overage charges are calculated monthly and added to your Stripe invoice as an invoice item at (or shortly after) month-end.

This is not real-time per-request metered billing.

Currency is USD only today.
